Michael Hussey:
Thunder 'not here to make up numbers
|
THE Sydney Thunder have the early authority in the first BBL semi-last at the Adelaide Oval, uprooting the Strikers' main four batsmen inside of the initial 10 overs.
Openers Mahela Jayewardene and Tim Lederman left inside of the initial three overs, before Travis Head hit four limits to lift the run-rate.
However Head's resistance was brief, with Thunder pace man Clint McKay lifting him up to claim his second wicket. Captain Brad Hodge was rejected by spinner Chris Green a couple of overs later.
Youths Jake Lehmann and Alex Ross were compelled to revive the Strikers' innings at the 10-over imprint.
