ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Secretary General Jahangir Khan Tareen on Saturday resigned from party position, a day after Supreme Court of Pakistan ineligible him for life.

Tareen, a close aide and best friend of Imran Khan, was ineligible for not being honest in declaring his property in the United Kingdom.
"I have spent all my life on principals and ethical values and I feel that morally it is not justified for me to continue as Secretary General of PTI. It is hereby for the reasons mentioned above, I humbly submit my acceptance from the post of the Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf," Tareen wrote in his resignation letter to the PTI chairman.
"I will always remain available to PTI as political worker in the fight against the political status quo and towards building a "Naya Pakistan". You will always find me as a sincere friend.

A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and comprising Justice Umer Ata Bandial and Justice Faisal Arab as members, on Friday announced the much-awaited judgment on identical petitions filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi.
